During the first year of using this kit (2007/08 season), Cristiano Ronaldo played the most spectacular season of his English career. He scored a staggering 42 goals in all competitions, which brought him his first career Ballon d'Or and Golden Boot.
It was also in this shirt that Manchester United achieved a historic Champions League triumph, defeating Chelsea on penalties in rainy Moscow.
In line with United's policy at the time, the home shirt was used for two full seasons (2007/08 and 2008/09). It brought the club an incredible streak of success: two English league titles in a row, victory in the Champions League, the Club World Cup and another CL final in Rome in 2009. And CR7 himself was an absolutely key figure, which later resulted in an astronomical transfer for that time to Real Madrid.
