Although the season itself was extremely turbulent for the club and ended in only 6th place in Serie A, the elegant, minimalist design of this shirt won wide acclaim among fans and collectors. Many experts and fans noticed that the 2011/12 version strongly referenced Inter's iconic 90s kits made by Umbro - especially the legendary 1997/98 season, when Ronaldo Nazário was dazzling at the club.
