One of the most unique Los Colchoneros models, highly sought after by collectors thanks to its unusual colour split and the fans' revolt.
In March 2006 Nike unveiled a design based on a vertical split of the shirt in half (half white, half red) instead of the traditional stripes. This caused such huge outrage among the fans that the club refused to play in it at the Vicente Calderón. In the end, the classic striped design from the previous season (2005/06) was brought back as the home kit, and this controversial split version was rarely used as an away kit. This makes it known as ultra-rare on the resale market.
